RAPE IS A CRIME In just one week, two cases of rape of underage girls in Lezha district were raped, the last one was from Rrëshen. Within a week, two minor girls, two children were raped. These are not isolated but integral cases of a system that incites violence and in violence lives, when the police officer to whom you go to make the denunciation sees it as an opportunity to gain a quick release; when schools lack sex education, information on the forms and extent of violence and equal treatment of girls and boys; when the media treats pedophilia and rape as "unwanted sex" instead of labeling it as it deserves: RAPE! Rape is a criminal offense. It is a crime! Rape is a direct threat to someone, mainly a girl or woman. The romanticization of crime is its legitimacy! Violence against a girl is violence against all of us. Violence against a woman is violence against all of us. We all echo in unison in Rrëshen all over Albania for each other and ourselves; for all the girls and women today and those who will come after us.
